Minutes of the meeting held on November 11th 2003


Members Present:
Elizabeth Silvester, Nicky Blackett. Alison Jackson, Richard Sill, Richard Potter, Fiona Ellis, Barry Swan, Geoffrey Holliday, Sue Richardson, Stewart Murray, Sheila Lough, Rosie Harvey, Gill Waterworth, Jenny Stevenson and Martin Keegan.

Minutes:

The Minutes were read and agreed as a correct record.


Matters arising:

The final total of donations to the Building Fund in memory of Edith Cowans was £315.


Treasurers Report:

David presented his report for the month of October, a copy of which is available on file. Of the £18,000 on deposit, £16,000 is available for the redevelopment of the Hall.


NTC performance “Alex and the Warrior” on December 6th:

Posters were distributed and Committee members urged to sell tickets.
Gill will organise the bar and Alison will do coffees and teas. David and Billy will be on the door.

Update on Fund raising:

Jumble Sale – there was some debate as to the final total this raised.
Whist Drive – this raised £158.
Whalton in Bloom evening – this raised £101.
Prize Draw- Thanks were given to Geoffrey and Jean Holliday for hard work. This raised £652.
Dinner Dance – this raised approx £500. There was some debate as to whether this should be repeated in the future, given the amount of work involved.
Bonfire Night party– raised £246.


Christmas Fayre

Sheila asked for volunteers to decorate the Hall on Friday 28th, starting at7.30pm.


Lantern Procession and Party on December 20th

Donations will be asked for on the door. Martin will organise the bar and there will be grog and mulled wine.


Panto

Auditions will be held on 27th November and 1st December. There are 11 parts, with extra volunteers needed for the crowd scene. Performances are to be the 5th and 6th March. This production is not primarily for children.


New Village Hall

David Ash has secured the services of a Quantity surveyor for £1000, not £2000 as originally quoted. The application for Planning Permission is to be made shortly.
