Minutes of the Meeting held on October 12th 2004
Present: Billy Grix (Chairman), Joan Goddard (Secretary), Vivian Thomson, Sue
Richardson, Martin Keegan, Stewart Murray, Rosie Harvey, Stephen Trobe, Richard
Potter, Richard Sill, Alison Jackson, Elizabeth Silvester, Barry Swan and Fiona
Ellis.
Apologies: David Adams, Jenny Stevenson, Bernard Scott, Sheila Lough, Gill Waterworth and Richard Grix.
Minutes:
These were read and agreed as a correct record.
Matters arising:
· The tenant of the cottage has found alternative accommodation and is
to vacate the property on October 15th
· Barry thanked everyone ho had attended the Macmillan Coffee morning.
£393 was raised.
· Joan pointed out that, for reasons of confidentiality, some matters
discussed in meetings are not recorded in detail as the minutes are now posted
on the website.
Treasurers Report:
The Chairman read David’s report out in his absence, a copy of which is
on file.
Hall Refurbishment:
It was agreed that there would be a special meeting of the Committee on Tuesday
October 26th at 7.30pm to discuss the next steps.
Gardeners' Question Time:
It was agreed that this was a very successful evening and everyone was thanked
for their contribution, especially Martin and Fiona. A profit of £463
was made.
Bonfire Night:
It will be possible for this to be held at the Village Hall, using Nicky’s
field as usual. Martin will organise the fireworks, Stephen and Richard Grix
will organise the bonfire, Richard Sill and Jackie Reynolds will provide mulled
wine, soup will be provided by Alison, Vivian, Elizabeth and Richard Potter,
Sheila will organise sausages and Pat Grix will be asked to organise a raffle
for children. Martin will organise posters.
100 Club:
Joan urged committee members to get their subs to her by the end of the month.
AOB:
· Lantern Procession
It was agreed that this event would still take place, probably in conjunction
with the Youth Club. Arrangements to be made at a later date.
· Richard Potter tendered his resignation from the Committee, as he is
going to work abroad for an extended period. The Chairman gave Richard the Committee’s
best wishes and thanked him for all his hard work. He assured him that his place
on the Committee would be available to him on his fulltime return to Whalton.
There being no further business, the meeting ended at 8.20pm.
