  Minutes

Minutes of meeting on 13 th November 2007 read and agreed as a correct record.

Matters Arising

  •  Linda was given a present of £100 M&S vouchers following donations from the various groups and from the Hall. She was delighted. The cottage is in good order but needs a coat of paint

•  Martin is pursuing the website advertising with the Meldon Park restaurant

Treasurer's Report

  Elliot delivered his report. Copy attached to the Minutes.

Caretaker

  We have received 7 applications of which 5 may be suitable. Interviews will be organised shortly.

Christmas Tree

  This has been kindly donated by Mrs Cookson. Richards Sill and Potter will put up the lights (to be supplied by Stewart).

Highlights

  A booking has been made for 13 th March 2008 – ‘Hard Hearted Hannah'.

  Burns Night

  The tickets are ready. All to sell as many as possible. 100 to be sold.

Fiona will enquire as to whether her Scotsman can attend.

Blue bin

  Sheila has purchased a bin for recycling materials which is in the kitchen.

Notice Board

  This probably needs replacing. Stephen Trobe may know someone who can do this. He will obtain a price. Billy will discuss the issue with Stewart who has been carrying out some urgent repairs to the existing board.

  Post Box

  This has to move as the post office is temporarily closing. Nikki suggested the box should go on the Hall land. Agreed this might be a good idea. Query whether a rent is payable. Agreed to await the next move of the Post Office who may approach the Parish Council.

  Carol Singing 22 December 2007

  The Colliery band is coming and will play inside and out. Light refreshments afterwards.

  AOB

  •  The New Rope String Band is unavailable to come at present. Agreed to follow this up in future.

•  Cinzia's play will be staged in the spring. Auditions 9/1/08.

•  £131 was donated from the pub following the recent pub quiz. Secretary to write to Mr and Mrs Dobson and ask them to convey our thanks to Trevor Howells and Tony Nixon and advise them we can advertise future quizzes via our email mailing list. Sue to give a bottle of wine to each of Tony and Trevor.

  There being no other business the meeting closed at 8.25pm. Next meeting 8th January 2008.
