Minutes of the meeting held on December 9 th 2003
Present: Billy Grix (Chairman), David Adams (Treasurer), Joan Goddard (Secretary), Stewart Murray, Sheila Lough, Richard Grix, Nicky Blackett, Barry Swan, Gill Waterworth, Richard Potter, Martin Keegan, Fiona Ellis and Alison Jackson.
Apologies for absence : Rosie Harvey, Vivian Thomson, Jenny Stevenson, Richard Sill, Cinzia Hardy and Sue Richardson.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and agreed as a correct record.
Matters arising
These were dealt with as agenda items.
Treasurers Report
David read his report for the month of November, a copy of which is on file.
Sue Richardson has raised £220 for the Building Fund by the sale of calendars, bringing the total of fundraising, up and including the Bonfire party, to £6370.
NTC performance of Alex and the Warrior
This effectively broke even - £366 raised by ticket sales, £46 from refreshments giving a profit of £15 against the cost of the production of 3387.
It was noted that this was an excellent production, thoroughly enjoyed by the audience, which included some people from out of the immediate locality.
Billy expressed thanks to all Committee members who helped out on the night.
Martin suggested the possibility of Hiring a large screen video from the Queens Hall in Hexham to show films in the Village Hall.
Fundraising
January 16 th :Shepherds Pie and Champagne supper at the Thomsons, for a maximum of 40-50 tickets.
February 21 st: An evening with Graham Danby is to be held at the Memorial Hall in Ponteland. Sheila suggested that tickets are £10 with a free glass of wine and light refreshments. Further details to be arranged later. Ian Johnston will be asked to produce tickets and posters.
March 5 th and 6 th Panto: Casting is almost completed.
March 27 th Fashion show.
Other events planned for 2004 are an auction and a Social Evening hosted by the Bowls Club.
Lantern Procession December 20 th
The Christmas tree is to be put up the weekend of the 13 th December. This was donated by the Cooksons and a donation has been given to Hartburn Church in thanks. Cinzia and Anna Waterworth are to be approached to lead the singing and Sheila will provide carol sheets. The processions will start from the Blacksmiths end, the school and Lynn Law.
The carol singing will be followed by a pooled supper, mulled wine and grog. Julie Potter will be asked to arrange games for the children and Jan Robson will be asked to lend her music system. The Hall will be set up from 2.30pm on the 20 th .
New Hall
The plans for the refurbishment of the Hall have been submitted.
AOB
Billy apologised to Richard and Julie Potter for forgetting their booking of the Hall and also to the WI for a clash of bookings.
- The offer of some second hand stacking chairs was discussed and declined.
- martin suggested inviting Stephen Trobe to join the Committee. This was welcomed by the rest of the Committee and Billy will approach Stephen.
- Joan will send a card to Graham and Elizabeth expressing our best wishes for Graham's speedy recovery.
There being no further business, the meeting ended at 8.30pm
