Billy opened the meeting by thanking Nicky for her hospitality in hosting the meeting.
Minutes:
These were read and agreed as a correct record.
Matters arising:
Treasurers Report:
David gave his report for November, a copy of which is on file.
Christmas Tree and Lantern Procession:
Arrangements were made for this event. The decision regarding refreshments will be made on the day.
Update on Refurbishment:
Billy thanked all those who helped clear out the Hall, especially non Committee members. Nicky felt that the Grixes and Stephen Trobe ought to be especially thanked for their hard work.
Billy felt that the work was progressing well, and that the foreman was particularly co—operative and helpful. Some further savings have been made on the original estimate by obtaining alternative quotes for plumbing and damp proofing and by removing rubbish.
The kitchen design will be finalised early in the New Year, with input from Sheila, Vivian and Ann Swan.
Billy thanked Nicky for her patience and toleration of the upset she is experiencing during the refurbishment.
Fund Raising:
The two outstanding applications to charities have been unsuccessful. A second letter has been sent to village residents but has not raised as much as hoped for and will be followed up by some individual approaches. David has also learned that only the work to provide facilities for disabled people will be zero rated for VAT.
The following suggestions were made for future fund raising events:
A Chinese Banquet- Jenny will organise this.
It was felt that the latter event is better in a large house and Jenny will approach the Renwicks and David the Cooksons about housing this.
Future meetings:
It was agreed that a meeting in January was not necessary. The 100 Plus Club draw for this month will made by Billy, David and Joan.
The February meeting will be held at the Grix's home and the March meeting at the home of Barry Swan.
There being no further business the meeting closed at 8.55pm .
