Hire Charges

The new hall is nowavailable for private hire for individuals and organisations at rates from £12.00 per hour for the main hall , £7 per hour for committee rooms.

Friday night to 1a.m. is £130

Saturday night to midnight is £100.

Youth Club


The youth club caters for children from 8-14years. We meet on a monthly basis at the moment but check the list of events for other dates. The club is staffed by a group of parents and we have a wide range of activities and trips out to icerinks and pools etc. Once a year we take the children away for a residential weekend in the Borders.

CARPET Bowls Club

Since Tuesday 27th May 1986 the bowling club has met on a regular basis. . Approximately 30 members meet and use the two carpets. Membership is not restricted to Whalton, people travel from Belsay, Morpeth and Ponteland for the now Wednesday evening meeting. The club hosts other bowling clubs for friendly matches and they are played on a home and away basis. The evenings include a supper - Whalton being renown for the standard of the food. The position of Club Captain is held for one year with the Treasurer and Secretary holding that office for two years. Since the club inception the office of Club Chairman has been held by only two people, Willy Scott from 1986 to 1995 and from 1996 to date held by Barry Swan. New members are always welcome , please come along on any club night.

Whist Club

Meets Mondays 7.30pm at the Vill;age Hall. New members most welcome. £2.00 per session. All profits to the Hamper fund for the old folk of Whalton.

Luncheon Club Contact Anne Swan 01670 775252

Whalton Luncheon Club has been running for over 30 years providing every Tuesday a two course meal in the Village Hall for elderly residents of Whalton and the surrounding area. The success of the club has been due to the commitment of voluntary cooks and transport drivers who have provided this service to the community. At present the Club has 13 members who enjoy a home cooked meal for the cost of £2.50p and in addition to the weekly meal have two free outings per year in the summer and at Christmas to alternative venues. Ant retired residents in the area who would like to come to the Luncheon Club would be most welcome. Volunteers who could assist with the cooking or the transportation of the elderly residents would be appreciated.
